    How to order student merch

    1. Agree the design.

      Pick one strong design and two or three products at most. Get your society or student union to sign it off.

    2. Check the logo.

      University names and crests are usually protected, so ask your university for permission before printing them. Your own society name and artwork are simpler.

    3. Open pre-orders.

      Collect sizes and payment before you order, using a form or an online shop. Selling to a known list means no boxes of unsold hoodies.

    4. Get quotes.

      Send three suppliers the same brief: product, quantity, sizes, colours, print or embroidery, and delivery date.

    5. Approve a sample.

      Ask for a digital proof at the least, and a physical sample for a big order. Allow around 4 to 8 weeks for custom items and confirm dates with your supplier.

    What is the minimum order for custom hoodies?

    It depends on the supplier and the method. Some suppliers listed here start from a single piece or a few dozen, while others need a few hundred. Check the MOQ on each card.

    How far ahead should we order for an event?

    Allow around 4 to 8 weeks for custom items, and add time for sampling and for pre-orders. Tell suppliers your date first, as it decides what is possible.

    Can we use our university logo?

    Only with permission. Universities usually protect their name and crest, so ask the university or students' union first.

    How do we pay for a student order?

    Most groups collect money through pre-orders before they place the order. Ask your treasurer who signs the order, and ask the supplier for a deposit and invoice.

    Can you make leavers hoodies for schools?

    Yes. Schools can use the same process. Ask an adult from the school to manage the order, and check the supplier can handle the sizes you need.
