• Wash endurance. Dimensional stability and colourfastness after repeated 40 to 60 degree cycles.
• Fastener safety. Pull-force tested snaps and buttons, nickel compliance, and zips with covered ends on younger sizes.
• References in your segment. Fashion kidswear, basics, and institutional uniforms are different disciplines; ask which one the factory actually lives in.

European custom production typically starts around 100 to 300 pieces per style and colour, with white label blanks available from roughly 50 to 70 pieces for brands testing designs. Lead times commonly run 4 to 8 weeks for repeat production and 6 to 10 weeks for a first run including sampling.

• Consolidate fabrics. Running several styles on one jersey or twill reaches mill minimums faster.
• Carry-over cores. Keeping basics unchanged across seasons turns every reorder into cheaper repeat production.
• Discipline on colourways. Two well-chosen colourways per style concentrate volume; five fragment it.
• Size curves from data. Ordering to real sell-through by size cuts the markdown loss that quietly erases sourcing savings.
